Hello, and welcome to Wikiwordbec.

Malægisc should do for now; I plugged it in to your template and made a couple of OE grammar corrections.

Edit: And yes, your template conforms to the layout I've established.

I also made a few changes to your message on my talkpage with annotations to help embetter your Modern/New English.

Thanks for helping us, and again, welcome!

I use <s> to show removals and <u> to show additions. If you would like me to explain my changes, just ask.
As for your translation request, I'll see what I can do, but I can't make any guarantees.
And you're very welcome.

Yeah, you make some errors. I understand that you're not a native English speaker, but I think you can easily stop making some of the errors you've been making with a bit of effort, so I figured that it'd be good if I pointed them out.

In that context, I believe of should suffice, but I'm not that great with the prepositions. fram/from does exist, but I don't think it's used for what you want.
Please note that it should be something like "Of Nīwengliscum X" and not simply "Of Nīwenglisc X". "-um" there is an adjective ending that agrees with singular, dative masculine/neuter nouns (I believe we should treat words, endings, and so on as neuters), and of normally takes datives. Read this Intro to OE and the New English Wikipedia's article on OE grammar if you wish to know more; ask me if you have any doubts. Please don't worry about this, native New English speakers are also normally scared of stuff like grammatical gender and case marking (... or at least I think most of us are).
A particular problem I notice is that you draw verbs close to question words when you shouldn't. Compare these:
  • "What was the answer?" (a direct question)
  • "I said: "What was the answer?" (I'm telling the listener exactly what I said before)
  • "I don't know what the answer was." (and never: *"I don't know what was the answer."; I'm stating I didn't know what it was)
  • "I said I didn't know what the answer was." (I'm telling the listener what I basically said)

Names of Wikimedia Languages[adiht]

Dear Malaysiaboy,

I have left the same message on Khmer Wiktionary, so sorry for cross posting!

We are initiating a long needed action - we would like to translate names of all Wikimedia languages to all Wikimedia languages in the next two months. We have noticed that you are very active on Wiktionary and that is the reason why we are taking liberty to contact you.

We hope that you would be interesting to help us in our endeavor - To make this action easier we have already prepared the list of all Wikimedia languages, and for each language we have already prepared the page with existing and missing translations. So when you go to the page for your language you would have two tasks - to check whether existing translations are OK and to fill in the missing one. The more detailed instruction are on the language page.

What are the benefits of this work?

  • We believe it is about time to have all Wikimedia languages translated to all Wikimedia languages :)
  • Translated languages will be parsed into Wiktionary and the resulting number of Wiktionary entries will be significant for each language. That could significantly increase the number of entries for less developed Wiktionaries, and improve the quality of entries in general.
  • Wikidata - this would be great contribution to Wikidata.
  • All other projects could benefit from this list (Wiki Travel :)), as we believe that certain amount of terms has to be properly translated to all languages.

We are gathered around the project Wiktionary Meets Matica Srpska and we hope that you would be interesting in working with us! If you have any questions you can ask them on the Names of Wikimedia languages discussion page or via personal emails.

Important notice: The data are licensed under CC0, as they should be incorporated into Wikidata at the end of the process.

If you don’t want to receive future announcement about the project, please leave a note on discussion page.

Thank you and looking forward to hear from you! team
