The word swǣr in Old English means '1. heavy (as a burden), oppressive; 2. heavy, grievous, painful, unpleasant; 3. heavy, sad, feeling or expressing grief; 4. of sin or evil, grave, grievous; 5. of physical or mental inactivity, heavy, slow, dull, sluggish, slothful, indolent' which is not the same as the German 'schwer' meaning 'difficult'. --James 04:25, 23 Solmōnaþ 2009 (UTC)
